As a Cornerback, Charles Tillman may be not as famous as the Quarterback, Josh McCown, but he is deserve to be known and supported to all fans (maybe not his). He is not only a good football player in the field, but also a great father in his family.

Charles Tillman, the two-time Pro Bowl CB of the Chicago Bears, leaving the football field without any choices. His newborn child, a girl of three-month-old was diagnosed dilated cardionmyopathy and needed a heart transplant. He had to rushed to the hospital and found doctors huddled around the litter girl.

The doctors said that his daughter could not make it through the night because her heart rate was too fast, like 212—220, at only three months. An common adult couldn’t do that; even himself, as a professional and strong sport player couldn’t do that. The whole family went into sorrow. Poor girl and poor father. Fortunately, Tiana (his daughter ) made herserlf through the night.

Tillman wanted his daughter to live. But it was hard for him to pray. Because he knew that his daughter’s being alive meant someone else’s child having to die. To any family, to lose child was a tough pill too swallow.

The litter girl received a heart and gave back to live after three months on a heart and lungs machine. Now the girl is four years old and very healthy. She plays with her brothers and sisters. There is a scar on her heart, called by Tillmans as “zipper”.

This experience made Charles know one thing. The illed cildren and the families need to be getting happy instead of being sad all the time. So he creates the Charles’ Locker, which offers critically ill children and their families access to iPads, PCs, DVD players and other electronic equipment to help them pass the time.

He said, “I’m just trying to get a smile on a kid’s face. They do not want anyone to feel sorry for them. They just want to be treated as a kid instead of a patient.”

Tillman returned his team when his daughter was well. And he will play in the 2013 Pro Bowl as the Cornerback. Expecting his great performance. Let’s remember him, # 33 the Cornerback of the Chicago Bears.
