On Wednesday night against the Hornets, Lakers No.24 Kobe Bryant scored the 30,000th point of his illustrious NBA career, making him the youngest one to reach that score in NBA's history.
He was also the fifth one to reach that milestone. The others are Abdul-Jabbar (38,387), Karl Malone (36,928), Michael Jordan (32,292) and Wilt Chamberlain (31,419). Earlier this week, Bryant had said that joining Hall of Famers was a huge honor. "Whenever you hear those kinds of manes, you think about the amount fo players that have played this game, and then to be in that kind of company, it's always extremely, extremely special," said Bryant. And now he can enjoy this extremely special thing himself.
Bryant has proven himself not just a scorer in playmaking for teammates when necessary , and has shown his various contributions on defense from five championship victories. Whereas he is a scoring demon and king in his nature. He is such a player who seemingly creates to make the ball go through the basket, all under his control.
NowKobe hasn't slowed down in his 17th season. He's averaging 27.9 points per contest to lead the NBA, matching last season's production as the most he's totaled since 2007-08. Bryant's most prolific scoring seasons came in 2005-06 and 2006-07. At that time, he won back-to-back scoring titles behind averages of 35.4 and 31.6 points respectively.
